This approach to the work is the only possible way for us to produce and perform our material. We understand the mentality (Geist) of our characters — both the goodness and flaws they show and share. If our character is in pain, we know this pain because we’ve felt it ourselves; and, as we expressed this pain on stage, we were certain that people in our audiences saw and felt it too.
Similarly, the socio-political insight embodied by each work was shared by the entire troupe. This, too, becomes new insight for everyone engaging together in our work — especially our audiences.
