The original author of these essays was Ingeborg Franke von Wangenheim.

Full of our own sense of mission, our performing-arts collective started searching for allies. At the start, we knew two things about ourselves: We wanted to work in theater, and we wanted to fight for public issues; for the common People. We wanted to bind our collective performances with activism for social change.

But how do we establish a real-world foundation and structures that might enable us to achieve these idealistic goals? We approached the accomplished German actor — also director and author — Gustav Wangenheim. Of course every German today knows Wangenheim for his accomplishments during the past twenty years in professional theater and film….
