There's a relatively new English translation, which I read last year. Still, it's a tough read. Very much like a collage, its narrative sometimes in the form of newspaper articles or even advertising....

It is not less dense in German, even for a native speaker. Readers of the late 19th and early 20th century had much more patience (and time / focus) than we have today.

When my German is at a high enough level to read proper books, density will seem less of a problem :)
